Auto Detailing in Newport, New York
Detailing at an auto body shop leans heavily toward the paint. Most of these hours go into correction, frequently on vehicles that have just come out of our own booth.
Paint correction
Swirl marks and fine scratches are shallow defects in the clear coat that scatter light instead of reflecting it. Correction means machine polishing a controlled amount of clear away until the surface reads flat again.
Clear is finite, so thickness gets measured first and the work stops well short of the point where a panel would need refinishing. On a vehicle that has been through automated washes for years, the change is larger than most owners expect.
Road treatment is the local enemy
Herkimer County roads get heavily treated from November through March, and that residue does not simply rinse off in spring. It sits in seams, behind trim, and along the lower edges of doors, working at anything already compromised.
Getting it off before it sits for months does more good than any product applied afterward. A corrected and protected finish sheds it considerably better than bare clear.
Interiors after a hard winter
Salt and grit tracked into carpet, road film on every interior surface, and the smell that comes with a vehicle that has been closed up wet for weeks. Extraction on carpet and upholstery, leather cleaned and conditioned, vents and seams properly cleared.
After a repair or on its own
A fresh panel deserves the rest of the vehicle brought up to meet it, so detailing often follows collision work. You are equally welcome to book it with no repair attached.
