Winter is what finishes a chip

A small chip stays a small chip through the summer. Then comes the first genuinely cold morning, you run the defroster hard against glass at minus ten, and the thermal shock runs it across the whole screen before you have left Newport.

If a chip can be filled it wants doing before that happens. After it runs, the only answer is a new windshield.

The camera on the glass

Vehicles from roughly the last decade mount a forward-facing camera behind the mirror, feeding lane departure warning and automatic emergency braking. Replacing the windshield moves that camera, and moving it means recalibrating it.

A camera aimed a fraction wrong does not report a fault. It simply misjudges distance, which matters only in the moment you needed it. We identify whether your vehicle requires calibration rather than sending it out and hoping.

Windshield, side, and rear

Door glass, quarter glass, and rear windows too. Tempered side glass shatters into fragments that get into every seam inside a door, and clearing that out properly is most of the labor. Skipped, it rattles for years.

Cure time is not negotiable

Urethane needs its full cure before the vehicle is safe to drive. We will tell you when it is ready rather than shortening it to hit a collection time.
